Run
  • 18m 14s
  • 2.49 miles
  • 07m 19s  min/mile
Comments:

Planned to run with Patrick at an 8"/mile pace and finish under 20". I told Patrick after the first 200m that we were running about a 7:15" / mile pace.... so mile 1 split was 6:50 then started up hill. Mile 2 split 14:50, then back up hill to the finish. I sprinted up the hill the last 200m and picked up about 30 places.
What would you do differently?:

more running
Post race
Warm down:

water and a banana, then jogged back 1.5 miles back to Patricks.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of disciplined schedule / training.

Event comments:

Race one of a three race Polar Bear Grand Prix Racing Series over the next two months. It was 32 deg when I left my house, so I wore a lycra shirt, PJ hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants. My hands got really cold, should have worn gloves...... but, had a good run.

Great Race!  You got 4th in your AG, with me getting 5th in mine.  Would have been great if we were both in the top 3 of our respective age groups, but I'll take what I can get.  You might have been able to without that anchor (me) slowing you down.  Thanks again for pushing through!
