I am planning on doing the Gold Nugget in May. Anyone else out there doing their first tri in May in Anchorage?

Hi, Patty!

I'm hoping to, if I can get over my fear of not finishing. :-) I've been working on building my cardio conditioning base. Next week, I start an actual training program. (Had to buy a swimsuit first, and I didn't like the plus-size offerings at Freddy's.)

Glad I won't be the only one there trying to figure out what to do!

I'm hoping to do the Gold Nuggett Also. I've done it twice before a few years ago before kids. I'm trying to get back in shape again. Not looking to get a good time just to finish. I'm out here in Palmer if anyone wants to train with me.

Have a large group from work and the gym doing it this year if everyone hangs in there... Which I KNOW they WILL!!!! Very excited!  Have never done a tri before but figured it was time to stop waiting for the right time in my life to do it and just do it!

Add me to the first time group who lives in the Valley! Anyone interested in doing some bike training when the weather gets better?

Or, I'm working out at the AT&T sports center if anyone is looking for a workout partner.

So I got into the Gold Nugget! This will be my first triathlon. Swimming is my strength, and I've been biking. I used to run - completed a marathon in 1986. But that's my weakness now - 20-25 minutes per run so far. Ugh, I hope 10 weeks isn't too short! I live and work in Anchorage.

It is a common sense that gold is very percious and now more and more people like the gold metal, and more and more people now join ge group of hunting for treasure and gold. This is like the "gold rush". But what is different form before is that now people use more advanced equippmemt to help them to find the gold.  And it seems among different equippments, people like the gold metal detectors most, because that such a device can help them to identify the detail information of the metal so that people can find it in a short time.

Hello Patty,

I am planning on doing the gold nugget in May for the first time. I bought my swimming suit yesterday and started swimming laps yesterday. Have to admit it sucked! The sunshine shop on fireweed has a nice selection of suits and accessories for swimming. They even had plus size suits, and they are super helpful.

Completion counts if you walk the run. Get one completed first...then up the goal to run 50%, then the next time run 95%.
