Just a couple questions:

1) How often should I sight during the swim portion?
2) I don't have a race belt. Would it be better to swim with my tri top on and then pin the number when the run starts, or pin the number to the top and then put the top on after I exit the water? Do I need my number on for the bike?

Good luck tomorrow. Sight every few strokes (5 or 6) depending on how straight you swim. I swim pretty straight so I only sight every 10-12 strokes.
I would think swimming with the number would be faster, but I have a belt so I wouldn't know. Is there registration or an expo today? If so, you might be able to get one today. If not ask around at your bike rack tomorrow. I usually carry two so I can share, maybe somebody else has two.
Have fun

Mad cow hit the sighting thing on the head that is what I do.

As far as the number belt if you can not find one tomorrow I would put it on my shirt then put your shirt on after the swim.

Have a great race tomorrow..

if your shirt is tight, its difficult putting it on after a swim when your still wet...if your number is pre pinned, it will most likely come off trying to get your singlet on.

best bet is to swim with your tri top and then pin it on.

BUT if u look around your house a bit, u can prolly fashion a good enough race belt...it will help a lot.

If you stroke is solid and the water is flat, you can site on every stroke. Local tri club showed me the technique (although I didn't absorb it very well). Also, you'll most likely be MOP, so you shouldn't have a problem seeing the other swimmers under water.
