The frist born for me would be cycling, Reliable, dependable, tends to get more quality time and money spent on it.

The second born would be running, over shadowed by the demands of the other two kids, you know that you should be spending more time with this child but it just doesn't seem to happen.

The baby of the family, swimming, the one that keeps you up all night, demands attention all the time, requires a lot of patience and thought and causes grief at the worst possible moment (normally the middle of an open water swim).

The wife maybe transition, happens in between the kids, is rushed and sometimes chaotic, but can ruin your whole day if you get it wrong.

Well put .......

And for the transition, sometimes it's worth taking your time to make sure everything is in the right place and your ready for the next leg.

A trip to the drug store and fresh sheets will usually help with transition.

Wait. What were we talking about?

I'll be the first to admit that sometimes I think about just going back to a 2-child family.  Y'know, without that pesky baby.  But that's the problem, society (triathletes) has the tendency to frown upon giving children away (only doing du's).
