Took my new cannondale ironman 600 out for a quick spin this morning (10 miles). Man what a difference from my 15yo Schwinn. It's amazing how much easier it seems when you have 18 gears as opposed to 12 gears. It took me a while to get used to having the shifters on the brake handles, and which ones were used to go up and down gears. I also got down on my aerobars for quite a few miles, and found out I need to keep both hands on at all times, no dropping a hand to get water, or blow my nose, or whatever. (came within about 6 inches of being taken out by a mailbox). And the most amazing thing was, when i got back, I had found I averaged over 19mph. which is about 3 mph fater than I have ever ridden, and I wasn't even pushing it this morning. Now i'm really stoked for my race this thursday. Tomorrow is a longer ride, likely about 25 miles, can't wait/

Awesome! I love posts like this. I'm a big Cannondale fan and glad to hear about your new ride. That's a sweet bike. Good luck with her this weekend.
