I'm going to use this for a speed day during the IMAZ work up.  This was my first tri ever last year!  I'm looking forward to meeting some BTers in person.

I'm just hoping to beat last year's time. PI last year was my second tri ever, so beating that time shouldn't be a problem! Look forward to seeing you there!

Attn. BTers.

Forecast calls for rain here Friday but clearing by Sat morning. It will be cool and the wind is forecast to be out of the north at 19 kts. Depending on exact direction that could mean that about 2/3 of the course is headwind or crosswind so tuck low and pedal hard. The pool temp runs between 82-86. Coming out of that warm water and running out into the cool air will be refreshing to say the least. Could be a lot of headlights on high beam.

Ha ha! Thanks for your insights, Cracker. How cool is cool? They're forecasting highs in the 50's for the Upstate on Saturday. If this is the case at PI, I'm throwing on a long sleeve jersey in T1 so I won't blind anyone with those highbeams!

Interesting. I used the forecast from TWC online and the local marine weather forecast. Hope the wind forecast on your site is accurate.

this is the national weather service forecast for beaufort...

Friday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. North northwest wind between 9 and 13 mph.

Saturday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 61. North northwest wind between 9 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 39.

at least 9-13 is less than the 25-30 it blew last year!

see ya'll down there.

I don't remember there being much wind last year.

But FWIW, wind out of the north is really best case, as you'll have the wind at your back all the way out to the first 180 turn, then you'll be in the wind for only about a mile until you turn right onto Yorktown, and then it'll be at your back again althe way out to the 7.2 mile point at the golf course 180, then a crosswind for 1.5 miles, and then back into the wind for the next mile, and then side/headwind for the last 1.5 miles.

Piece o' cake!

Well, I think all weather reports were wrong; it was stinkin cold, and there seemed to be a headwind the entire course to me!

Had a great first tri, and I think I'm hooked now. I enjoyed meeting emitch and chatting for a bit. Didn't do too badly either, considering how long I've been training. See you folks at Langley Pond!

Oh, and thanks to De Cracker for the eatery tips. We settled on the Golden Corral, and I think it was very suitable for what we needed.
