Sarbanes Oxley is a total crock of sh*t

Total insanity.  We spend so much time self auditing, getting audited by our inside firm, and then our outside firm.  Plus the years we spent writing dumba$$ procedures and then maintaining them.  We jsut got done with our 3rd year of SOX audits and the auditors still find new stuff they want to check.  Our business hasn't changed - how could there be new stuff to check?  They make the crap up as they go along. 

Really blows as I  know we are honest but now we are handcuffed and it is near impossible to move forward as an IT organization to help develop the business needs.

I type this as I procrastinate auditing who can approve batches on JDE.  Good use of time for an IT manager in a multi billion dollar firm.

Selling crack probably is cleaner money.

But this is legal.  Hey, don't hate the playah.  And the consultants I place are WITH the company that could be audited, not actual SOX Auditors.  Most companies need SOX Analysts and Consultants to make sure they are complient.  That's where I come in.

But I'm a shopaholic and need income!!  If it helps my SOX placements only account for about 2% of my production.  I make a lot more money selling SW Engineers and QA Analysts.  Oh, and Project Managers (good margins!).
