Comments: Pretty good, considering IM training has sapped all my speed, and general not training has sapped most of my fitness. This is a good benchmark--if course was accurate, would have been about a 22:35 5k. With some fitness and speedwork, I know I can get under 20 minutes. Used this as an LT test, and it looks like it's 171. What would you do differently?: Train a bit, I guess. Post race
Warm down: Walked around a bit, cheered my runners in. What limited your ability to perform faster: See above. Event comments: Good first year race (drew more than 400 people, which is great for Augusta). A couple of issues: waaay expensive for a 5k. Course mismeasured, and no awards (?). Got up at 6:30, ate some oatmeal, drank water and some diet coke. Shower and hop in the car. Got to the race site about 7:30, registered ($30 for a 5K!?), and went for a warmup run.
Ran about 10 minutes before our 8am meet up. When my TNTers got there and registered, we ran easy for about 7 minutes and stood around chatting for awhile until it was race time. Saw Jonathan (SwankGuy) and a few other people I knew.
