Subject: suggestions for bike trainers
i'm looking into getting a trainer for my bike so i can get some riding in at night or am when the kids are in bed. i want something functional and decent but that won't break the bank. i don't really know much about them, so i'm looking for some suggestions---

which kinds do you like/recommend? used or new? etc.
thanks!!
Megan

I have a Kurt Kinetic fluid trainer. No issues since I bought in 2003 until last week. The tension knob broke. To sum it up, called kurt kinetic, there answer. No questions asked, confirmed my name, the part needed and advised would be in the mail (friday). Received the part yesterday in the mail and trainer is good as new. They have lifetime warranty and from this experiance they back it up.

Personally, my suggestion would be to make me an offer on the one I have for sale in the classifieds. Its a cycleops fluid trainer in perfect condition with the riser block. I have only put a few hours in on it and it works great. Ok Im done with my shameless plug.

I got this one for Christmas this year: http://www.performancebike.com/shop/profile.cfm?SKU=20981&subcategory_ID=4120

Basic fluid trainer, but works very well, is quiet and smooth, and it's easy to mount/dismount bike. Personally I don't see the need to spend more for the resistance adjustment option since you can simply change gears on your bike if you want more resistance.
