Morning,

A BT picture sounds good to me.  Quick question about the parking.  Does it get a bit ridiculous?  I was thinking about that the other day, and it almost made more sense to ride my bike the 2.5 miles to the start.

Look forward to meeting you all there.

I'm in on the pic.   What is the deal with the parking??? I think I can ride in.  I believe I am only 3 miles away.  I am getting excited....  It will be fun to meet more BT'ers

yup, parking can get a little crowded quickly. But, if you get there early enough you`ll be fine. I have driven there the last 2 years and haven`t had a problem with parking.

If we do the pic, we need to meet up. I know naners and tritwinmom, but anyone else will have to speak up and let us know who they are.  We could meet just before the awards (seeming naners and tritwinmom will be getting one......my prediction), at the toilet block near the bike transition. How bout it?  Perhaps after I finish then we can take it, cause I will be the last one crossing the finish line anyway....great, I`ll have a nice red face in the photo.

I am in!  Looking forward to another fun race.  Anyone doing Iroquois Pt?  Did it last year and it's a great way to start off the year.  Flat course.  As far as parking goes for Lanikai.  This is my thrid year doing it.  If you get there semi-early you can park real close, if not still just need to park right across the bridge-still really close.  A little story.  First year doing this race(my third race ever) I get to race sight nice and early, set up transition and going over my stuff when I realize I left my running shoes at home.  Oops!  Thankfully I only live 15 minutes away.  Got back in plenty of time and everything was fine.  Yes, I have a checklist now! That's how I found out about parking, so no worries if you want to drive, should be fine.  If not a little 3 mile ride should be a nice warm up.  Best of luck all!

Aloha,

Matt

Parking was fine. There is a big field right next to transition so no problems.

Sorry Everyone,
I was getting ready to do the Lanikai Triathlon (my first Tri), then found out I will be out of town for work. This really has put a damper on my day! Well I guess I still have more time to train for my "first" triathlon, which is good I need the extra time for swimming. Good luck everyone, train hard, but most importantly have fun. Someone please send me a group picture when its done.............

Hello all,

Thought that I would chime in with Sunday’s weather report.

Sunrise at 6:12 (how beautiful is that swim going to be?!?)
High: 79/Low: 72 (nice!)
Humidity 75% (It could be much worse)
“considerable cloudiness” (It’ll make the sunrise that much prettier)
Wind: ENE 11 MPS (no idea what that means)

How’s everyone feeling?

It's a great race for your first tri!  Here's a link to the bike route.  Some nice soul created it and placed it under the public routes:

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/map.asp?routeid=4398

The run is from the beginning/start of the bike route, around Lanikai Loop, and back.  The swim will be right off of Kailua beach.  Happy training .

Smatad,

Good luck on your "first" tri. Just remember to have fun. Like everyone told me, for your first one, just have fun. But I must warn you, they are addicting!! I would be there if I could, but I'm currently "out of town on business", ha,ha. Good luck and have fun.....

The numbers aren't up for 2008 yet.  The original message was from last year's race
