Subject: Junior Triathlon Events - at school?????
As a PE teacher at a secondary school in England I've been thinking about organising a 'mini' triathlon for the local kids in our area.

Has anyone out there done this sort of thing before?? The pupils are between 12-16 years old and to make the event viable, I wanted to include pupils from other schools. Kids love to compete with the local school.

Yes there is probably a lot to consider in terms of organisation. Where should I start???

All suggestions welcome.

That would be great!  If you have some kind of a fair, you can have it then.  I am certain that some local bike and run stores would show up and sponsor it.

Anything to keep kids active and make it fun.  I like how you think.

In our area, these are frequently put on in conjunction with existing 'adult' races. I'd contact the director of a local race, explain your intention and see if they'd be willing to include a kids race in with you in charge of organizing it.

It's a win-win because a lot of the resources you'd need would already be in place, it's a PR bonus for the RD.
