Hey guys and gals,

I'm from Jamestown but am going to college up in Grand Forks. I was just wondering if there is anyone else from either of these towns to maybe run or bike with once in awhile. I'm also just seeing who's training out there in North Dakota. Leave a message back.

Hi,
I am living in GF and just starting my training this week. I am also looking for a new biking partner since the person that I biked with last year moved. Let me know if you want to meet up or if you hear from anyone else in the area. I know there used to be a group that met at Ski and Bike once a week and there is also a Tri club that does weekly time trials on i think monday nights. Does UND still have the bike team/club.

Have a good day Brent

The Ski and Bike Shop groups only meet during the summer months as far as I know. So they should be meeting now until mid Sept some time. UND does have a bike club. I have seen their website, but can't remember the exact link. Good luck in your training, maybe see you in the pool or on the roads once school starts up again.

Born in Williston and joined US Army in Fargo! Now where are all the ND races?

If you are in Fargo I would recommend the Tri Minnesota Series. The only races I know of in ND are Bismarck, Mandan, Dickinson, and Prairie Rose State Games. Minnesota tends to have one every weekend. Nice to see another Williston native on the site.

Is there any sort of Tri-club in the Fargo area? I am new to this sport and am curious to learn more about any local resources ... especially swimming!

I haven't heard of one....yet you can always start one!! I live in Jamestown but go to college in Grand Forks and have thought about creating one. There's a lot of useful people on here, take advantage of them.

Welcome Sneaky! Their are two of us from BT that train in Jamestown quite often. We are both at UND right now, but come home on occasional weekends. There are a few othertriathletes from Jamestown who aren't on BT but most are away at school also. If you are looking for races next summer, my suggestion is to look into the TriMinnesota Sprint series. I have had good luck with these races. All are run rather well and have a good crowd of people. good luck, and let me know if you have any questions.

Gunner, love the name!  Is that your true name?

ImTriing, what a cute pic!

We're up here in Rugby.  I was training full-tilt until we moved and then with husband gone and no one to watch the kids, I just let it peter out.  I did do a 20 mile run this summer but I'm fat as he-double hockey stix   It's very frustrating.

Does anyone have experience with ski pulks or pulling a sled with kids for running?  Pulks are mighty expensive, and it seems silly when I'll only use it for two seasons until my husband is back among us.

Thanks,

Danielle

If anyone is looking for a training partner in Fargo, I work out at the downtown Y. I also coached swimming, so if you are looking to improve your stroke I'd love to help. Although I'm not a cert. TI coach, I've read the books and assisted a college team with TI.

My wife and I are very active triathletes living in Fargo, ND. I would be willing to help build a Tri Club if there is interest.

I think a North Dakota Triathlon club should be created!! It's a very new sport to the state but it's booming everywhere across the country!!  Anybody else hyped about this idea...

No, never been a tri club before. If it stops raining I'm meeting a group of triathletes today. I see what they think.
