it is PM, sometimes it starts later, it is not too bad except for the mosquitos after the swim... i never got out of my wetsuit so fast !!!

i contacted the open water swim people. they guy that runs it is quick to get back to you. you need to pay 40 for the swim master card. then it's 25 for each ows. they meet at robert moses on the bay side north of the light house. the website is openwaterswimli.com

Mineola Bike shop has a great group ride every sunday at 8 AM. Range of distance from 23 to 48. This sunday we did a 27 miler in 1:27:19. great ride. get to see alot of LI that you normally dont see.

Hey I usually go in the morning now, but once school starts it will probably be later in the afternoon

Haha oh too bad- that's the opposite of my schedule! How is the crowd there in the morning? (Other than elderly.) When I go at night sometimes it's soooo crowded with swim teams, Team in Training, etc.

It's not that bad really, I'm usually able to get in a full 2 miles without having to share a lane, but it's closed Aug 16-sept 7th unfortunately so I'm gonna have to find somewhere else if my running is back to normal in the next few weeks.  My classes are really early, so if I'm still swimming everyday (hopefully not) its gonna be 3-5pm'ish.
