Subject: SBR Triathlon Series

I was looking at  the SBRTriathlonSeries and was wondering if anyone has thought of doing any of these races. The first one is June 3rd and I was thinking of doing it.  I'm currently scheduled to do the first NYTC race there on 6/10 but that's the same day as the Orange Classic 10K which is a pretty big deal here in Orange County, so if this race looks good I might switch.

It's a shorter bike route with an out and back on 7 Lakes Drive so apparently no Tiorati Brook Rd., which I think is a shame because that climb is a great challenge.

My calendar was full when I saw the SBR series.  I agree, I like the course for the NYTC sprint but I'm not  a fan their disposable timing chip (doesn't time transitions). For that reason alone I'd switch to your local 10k then tri out the SBR race.

That being said, I may try squeeze any of them in as training days but it'll be a last  minute decision.

Mark pointed that out to me and I managed to sqeeze in the 08/18 race. Wish I could do the NYTC for the course alone but will always hate their (so called) timing system.

Thanks for the input , gentlemen. I decided to do the SBR race on 6/3, so I'll be sure to do a race report to let you know how it goes. I'm hoping SBR puts on a good race. It's good to know that I'm not the only one who isn't thrilled with NYTC "timing" system.

I checked the SBR website, and they have changed the bike route to the "regular" Harriman route. I'm getting psyched. There are a few BTer's signed up, so I hope to get a chance to say hello to some of you.
