Subject: Swim glove usage recommendations?
I just picked up a pair of webbed swim gloves and was going to use them in my next workout, but I'm not sure how much I'm supposed to change my form to use them. I don't plan on altering my arm mechanics really, I'm just not sure if I'm supposed to keep my hands cupped or spread out my fingers to maximize the webbing. Really, any tips people have to maximize the effectiveness of the gloves would be appreciated.

Just think of them as paddles...same concept just less strain on the shoulder. I've never used them and actually stopped using paddles as well.

Don't change your form at all...

I have the gloves.  I keep my fingers spread to maximize the drag effect.  Don't change any other aspect of your form.

I use pool toys sparingly.  When I do use them, it's only for a couple of sets - 10 - 20 minutes of the workout.  And focus on form and drills.  It's very easy to have pool toys become a crutch.
