Open Water Swims are back!

Starting April 26 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm we will be offering Open Water Swim/Brick Training sessions at Wenonah Lake, Wenonah, NJ. This is an opportunity for all Triathletes to get comfortable with open water swimming. It is free to all USAT members. All non-USAT members must pay the $10 one day license fee. We also provide lifeguards to patrol the swim course. These guards volunteer their time and we ask that you consider tipping them for their donation of their help.

The first sessions will be Swim/Run Bricks due to it getting darker earlier. You can just swim or participate in the brick training. Wetsuits are recommended for atleast the first couple as the water will still be very chilly.

Due to the overwhelming response here's how it works;

*The first session is limited to the first 125 people.
*You must RSVP or you cannot participate. The lake is small and there is limited parking so for safety reasons please RSVP.
*Parking is limited if the lot is full you must park on Jefferson or Buttonwood Avenue; there is NO PARKING on Maple Avenue. They will ticket and tow.
*You can get directions on google (use the intersection of Maple and Jefferson Aves., Wenonah, NJ) or email [email protected].
For more details on the Open Water Swims please visit www.cgiracing.com.

To RSVP email [email protected].

RE: Masters Swim Clubs.

I need help with my swimming too. I'm going to attend my 1st session at the Penn Charter on Monday. Here is the website for the Valley Forge Masters.

http://www.bee.net/dcastell/ValleyForgeMasters.htm

They also swim at Villanova and Germantown Academy.

Joe -- I'd like to borrow a copy of that book if we ever meet up for a training session.

yeah I like the TI ideas and once you get form down it gets a lot easier.

how'd you like hanging out w/ the fishies? always heard roadies can be arrogant and runners are just weird but never hung out w/ a bunch of swimmers before.

Haha, thats really funny. Actually I hardly talked to anybody, just the couple from my tri club. But everyone seemed very nice. They let us swim free the first time and everyone was just paddling away. We were of course in the slow lane!

I attended my 1st swim session with the VF Masters at Penn Charter this morning. I thought it was well organized and the coach was very helpful. Now I just have to get faster. Let me know if you guys want any details.

PompEner - 2007-04-05 10:21 PM Wow 1 and 2 mile swims! Is there anyway that a sucky swimmer like myself can go to get some good help and training? And when I say sucky im talking under 300m!

My swimming started to improve when I got some instruction from a masters swim team. I was doing the TI drills, however I was not doing all of them correctly. The masters coach helped alot with form and drills. If you can't find a master team you should be able to find private lessons. A session or two can make a world of difference. Once you are confident with your form, swim lots!!<img align='middle' src='https://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/images/emoticons/smile.gif'>

I just joined Philly Tri club. It was previously Guys Multisport Club.

I basically finished the DVD and still feel like I cant swim! I need a coach. Anybody who can help it would be appreciated!
