I ran most of the Ironman Florida loop today, it was fun imagining how it will be in about 7 months, I even ran up the boardwalk parking lot to practice the finish. I still need a lot of work, you realize just how far it is and how long it will be when you start to run longer distances.

Way to go!  Enjoy the journey over the next 30 weeks!  I think I would like to pre-run it too, not sure how that will happen though.

It's not the run I'm worried about .... it's that little jaunt into the water at the beginning .......

Ugh ... that Lollipop Park was never ending during Gulf Coast last year.

Wonder if they fixed the rough road on the out and back section after the bridge?

Don't focus on it being long.  Surprising as it may sound, the day is going to go by fast.  Enjoy it!

But - if you think you'll be running past sundown, my advice is to get one of those lights that hook on to the front of your run cap.  It is uber dark on that run course... especially when you go through the park the second time.   All you'll be able to make out without a headlight is a bunch of bouncing glowsticks.

Ahhhh... memories.

Just to add to Joannh13 comments' because of the change in DST this year, the time change will occur the next day, so we're going to have an extra hour of daylight to finish.

30 weeks away... oh dear!!!

The rough road is better.

At GCT, you go around the big circle and exit the park. At IMFL, you go around the big circle, almost to the exit, and then turn around and retrace your steps. ANd then you do it again on the second lap. It's better, though, because you aren't baking.

Cool you got to do that!  I was thinking about taking a road trip up sometime this summer for an exploratory weekend!
