ok.  Everyone is always talking about how busy they are - work, family, training.....

Who hires help for those domestic chores?

We don't now but we used to when we were both working.
She was an angel.....I swear she could fly. We'd get home, open the doors and it was like walking into a tiny bit of heaven. And I swear, the vacuum was in the closet 20 feet from the front door and there were vacuum tracks on all the carpet with NO footprints. To this day I don't know how she got out of the house. WE MISS YOU VERONICA!!!!

We have a woman that cleans for us once every other week. $50 well spent.

Can I move to your neighborhood? We have a cleaning service every other week as well, but pay more than double that.

We've almost always had a cleaning service since we've been married/working full-time/with kids/in a house, except for a little over a year without (which I will NEVER do again). I hate the "night before the cleaner comes" pickup rush, but I love coming home to a freshly cleaned house and knowing I don't have to spend the weekend or the evenings with a toilet brush and a vacuum. Time much better spent with my kids/being a soccer mom/going out and in the pool/on the bike/running.

Lawn Service somehow they are profitable charging me only $25/week to mow, edge and blow. It would take me 3 hours to do same...I am definitely worth way more than $8.33/hr.  Wifey has requested monthly cleaning lady with her new raise...how can I argue..it is her raise!

House every other week and lawn every week.  The lawn guy is a great deal - $28 because he adds 3 bucks to the bill to bag it.  Can you believe that?  $3 extra to bag it?  Half the neighborhood uses this guy and the other half should.

Nothing.  We had a guy for the yard but he stunk and never did much so stopped using him this month.  People in my town think I'm crazy that I don't have a nanny.  They always say they had one with one kid and they don't know how I can do it.  Come on!  These are the same ladies who need a nanny so they can go get their nails done or their botox injected.

Edited to add- I don't mean all people with nannies are like that - I would LOVE to have help once in a while.  it's just where I live- I can't stand most of the moms around here.

We've been tossing it back and forth for a couple of months now, but haven't looked into getting someone.  But we NEED to.  We can barely keep up with the dishes/laundry.  I'm ashamed to think how long it's been since my bathroom was really cleaned.  Blech.

I'm about to hire a pro to clean because I'm putting my house on the market.  But most of the time, I'm just too cheap.  Not that I clean it myself however.  Hence the current need for professional help.

I do have a guy come do the lawn & edging regularly, and pay him.

Every other week inside and out.  $65 for in, $60 for out (mow blow and go).  Neither my wife nor I have cleaned a toilet for about 5 years.

So worth it (although I can relate to the "clean up the night before the cleaning lady comes" drill)

I once, when I was making a lot more money, suggested to my SO that we get a house cleaner, since we are both slobs...he doesn't really trust anyone to come in and move his stuff around...so I have never had a maid...

I would love for someone just to do my laundry and the dishes...I wonder how much that would cost.

Totally!  I can't keep up with the dang dishes, much less vacuuming or cleaning toilets.

There was a promo in the the lobby of my building last week for a laundry service where you leave your dirty laundry in a locker and then the next day it's all there, all clean.  I want something like that for my dirty dishes.

We had a guy come over every second week to completely clean the house.  But, he took sick and since we have moved to the new house, I am the housekeeper, cook and nanny (for the cat).
