Less than 60 days to go, so I'm going to kick this off. How's everybody's training going?

Training is going well enough but it looks like I have to bail out of the race.  A couple good friends from grad school decided to plan their wedding for that weekend.  While I'm disappointed about missing the race I just can't see not making their wedding for a stupid race that I can do any year.

It's sure getting close. Training is right on track. Only thing that could be better is if this dam weather would start looking up....DLST is early this year and it's cold and rainy every day. Go figure...

I almost see JUNE on my calendar!!!!

I'm coming along quite nicely.

I did my first 56mi+ ride of the year last weekend and felt really good.  I have been upping my run distances as well, even with 6 weeks to go.

The hardest thing that I've faced is getting used to the 4/1 run/walk structure that my coach wants me to follow.  And learning not to blow myself up on the bike.

This weekend kicks off my race season w/ St Anthony's then it is heads down to Eagleman, which will be by trial run for IM WI in Sept.

Good luck to all of you. I look forward to watching it. I am new to this and don't have nearly the satmina or swimming backgound to attempt this yet. I'll watch all of your logs to see how your training goes. Give 'em hell.

Thanks! Give it time, no reason you can't give it a try sometime soon.

Holy crap!!

You mean I'm supposed to be training for this???

Yeah, you can say that Boston put a damper on my tri training .... and then having a foot/tendon issue slowed down even the run training after the race.  I'm definitely going into this as a long training race to get some more practice in for IMFL.  I fully expect to not have a really superb race, which is why I'm looking at this as a training experience and going out to have fun with the race!

Goal is to race smart this year and do whatever I can for that day.  I'm a lot more confident with my swim, but with the lack of cycling miles in my legs and the fatigue from running so damn much for the last few months I don't know what I'll have in the tank.  So I'm just gonna have a good time and enjoy the experience (unlike last year).

At this point, there's not much else I can do -- however, training has gone great and I'm looking forward to the race!
