I found "Advanced Adult swimming" lessons at the McKinney city pool for $30 for 8 sessions.

I had my first one on last Tuesday. The instructor watched me swim two laps and then we discussed my weak points.

Great price for this.

That is an excellent price. We signed our two daughters up for lessons this summer at SMU for about $250 each. Luckily I have a neighbor that is an ex-competitive swimmer that goes to the pool with me. I pay for gas, she criticises... Wait a minute, I get that at home for free!

LTF in Allen has Master's swimming for 36.00/mo for members, 42.00/mo for non.  You get tues/thurs. am or pm sessions for 1 hour.  Dave's a great coach, so I can only speak for him, but I have heard good things about McKinney's lessons.

Each sessions is 35 minutes. Last night was my second. The instructor had what each of us (they're 4 in the class) was supposed to do on the white board. As we did the workout, she would walk up and down and provide feedback.

I'm really enjoying this. Up to this point, my swimming education has come from a Total Immersion book. The feedback while I'm doing the drills and laps helps a ton.

That sounds right up my alley. Is there a website that might have info for the next enrollment?

www.mckinneytexas.org

Then navigate thru Cultural & Recreational Services / Parks & Recreation .

The Parks & Rec guide is there for searching.

Thanks! I am checking it out now.

I live in Allen and tried taking two seperate course at the city pool pool. These were master classes but both were full (6 people) with people who weren't even comfartable putting their face in the water. It didn't help me at all.
