There are several people on BT doing the White Lake Half. There is a thread three or four down on the NC list that is covering the sprint and the half. Good luck at the race. Its sure to be a good one.

Going to be an interesting race this year.  Would like to go under 5:30 but with the past two weeks of training out the window, 6 hours would be nice.

I'm volunteering at the Half ... doing the sprint. Won't know where I'm working until the week of the race, but I'll keep you posted so you'll know where you can get a friendly "HELL YEAH" on the course!

I'll be there. I also hope to be under 5:30 like someone else. Or if I should be honest 5:15 but let's be realistic. It's my first HIM.. This would be the numbers 0:30 - 0:02 - 2:58 - 0:01 - 1:59

I'll be there, too...if I hit my 5:30 target, I'll look for the rest of you finishing right around me.

Ok ... I'm working Body Marking ... I'll be the 5'3" Athena with the big, big mouth! I have great handwriting, so PLEASE let me body mark you! After that, I'll move to help with swim finish timing.

Should I wear a tiara so everyone can find me? Ok ... any HELPFUL ideas?!?!

Must report at 5am, so I got a motel for Friday night even though I refused to get one for Saturday night before my own race. Silly silly girl!

I am also volunteering at the half (and racing the sprint).  I will be working the transition area.

I have to report at 5am also.  I won't be getting a hotel though.  I will be driving in from Fayetteville (one hour drive).  So not much sleep for me this weekend!

I have some BIG GOALS for my first half. Do I dare say the time I want to finish in? Will I jinx myself? OK NO "yeah right"s. I'm aiming for the 5 hr mark! I'm I nuts? I'll be the tri mom with the three kids running around cheering me on.

Good Luck..Looking at your race times I think your time goal is achievable.
I'll be there too and hoping for a cooler weather as forecasted.

  • I am thrilled about this forecast-minus the rain.  I imagine the race would be brutal if it was in the 90s this early in the season.  Talk about changing your race strategy at the last minute!

I'll be there as well. I may be a little burnt out still from St. A's, but its going to be a fun time none the less.

I just snagged a room at the Alpine Inn.  So, if you're a last minute type of person like me, there are still a few more rooms available if you need something.

Any pre-race festivities or eating going on? Wouldn't mind catching up with you guys. PM for a cell number.

    Jeff

Now I know who to look for regarding the body marking on Saturday morning.

Good thing you write big since we could have a few showers.
