I had been planning on doing the Mountain Man Tri in Flagstaff, but it is the same weekend as the swimming portion of the Grand Canyon State Games. While I've only been Tri training for a few months, I've been wanting to swim in this for the past couple of years. What to do, what to do???  I definitely stand a better chance to medal in the GCSG.

If the swimming is on Saturday... you can swim then go to Flagstaff. They will let you pick up your packet on Sunday morning before the race.

Just a thought.

Kids are on Saturday, big kids on Sunday.

After reading the race report, it might be a little above me. I could do the sprint, but I'm tempted to move up a notch.  I only done 2 tri's (both sprint - one in reverse). I come from a swimming background and a pseudo-running one.  The toughest leg for me is the bike.

Decisions, decisions, decisions....

Mountain Man, Mountain Man, Mountain Man!!!!!

Great race. Did it 4 times in the 90's and can't wait to do it this year.

No traffic to fight while you're racing, it's in the pines, and they've moved it to when the water should be much warmer.

I may or may not be on vacation - I'll know soon. If  I knew for sure, I would've signed up for the Mountain Man in Flagstaff.  If I'm in town, I'll probably do a6K on Saturday and then the swim events on Sunday. You can only do 4 events -  I was thinking 200 Free, 100 Back, 500 free, and either the 50 or the hundred free.  I'd love to do the IM, but I haven't done any fly. We'll see...

Paulettejo - 2007-06-21 8:37 AM I'm doing mountain man, but if they did co-ed relays i'd do the fly - next year!. I'm a terrible IMer, but my coach used to make me do it anyways (I breasstroke like a gay man - bad joke).

It took me a second, but I got it.
