Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5:00 am, made some coffee. My folks got up and made grits, eggs, sausage, toast and fruit. Age a huge breakfast. Drank a few waters. Left for the race late (6:20) and arrived around 7:20.
Event warmup:

Only had time for a quick swim. Running late and trying to figure everything out really ate into what little pre-race time I had. By the time I got marked and my transition area setup the announcer was telling everyone to make their way to the beach. I had to throw the wetsuit on and hurry down there, hence the stuck zipper in T1

Good swim I thought. I expected to be much further back in the pack than I actually was. Nice suprise.
What would you do differently?:

Start on the end. There was a lot to thrashing, contact and chaos. I wondered why I could so easly find a spot right there in the middle of the line along the shore.

Besides the wetsuit zipper getting stuck issue, everthing was okay.

Pull the zipper straight up instead of up at an angle when putting on my wetsuit.
