Is doing a half marathon and an olympic tri two weeks apart safe? Last year I did Oly tris two weeks apart with no problems but I've never run that far before. Any advice?

Very dangerous. I've heard it could be linked to cancer.

Sorry. Go ahead and race.

I did a marathon and then a sprint tri two weeks later last year. My sprint times were terrible, but it was fun! As long as you're not expecting to PR on the oly, then, yeah, do it!

I have a new philosophy on life and triathlons. I'm not going to try to PR ever again -- I just want to enjoy the scenery, the exercise, the company and the experience. If I happen to PR then dandy. If not -- who's going to judge me?

OK then I'm going to do it! Chicago half on Aug. 12 followed by the Chicago tri on Aug. 26. Anybody care to join me?
