Subject: training camps
Are there any training camps for true newbies who are just planning to do Sprints to Olympic Distance races. The ones I have found seem like they are geared towards more hard core Iron Man distance training. I would like to attend a camp with other newbies to gain just basic training info and skills.

Thanks.

I know that John Cobb put one on in Dallas last March. Wish I had known about it. I would also like to go to a traing camp, especially to work on my swimming.

I live in Florida, but am willing to travel. Will they be having the one in Texas again this year?

I'm not sure if they are planning to do it again. The website for the one this past year is www.texastricamp.com. It has contact info so you might try that. Or, John Cobb's main website is www.bicyclesports.com. John Cobb now lives and has his head operation in Tyler, Texas now so it's pretty cool having someone that big in the business living in your backyard. So, if I see him around, I will have to ask him about that. John Cobb recently spoke at one of our club meetings and he discussed building a huge training facility in Tyler (mainly for the pro's though). Perhaps once that gets under way he will hold training camps for us reacreational triathletes as well.
