Subject: OUr 1st Tri - 3 weeks - cap of tx tri in Austin labor day
So I started really training about MId January.
Come along way in just a few months.
This site' and the forums have been really helpful...Thanks! ! !!

The Tri - is Memorial day - about 3 weeks away.
Been doing 1/2 and full distance bricks with no problems...
I think I am ready to finish, but may have to walk the last mile or so.

My wife & I are doing the Tri together - Capital of tx tri - ( my first Tri distance )
We live in Houston and the event is in Austin.
Coming in the day before to hang out in Austin a little.

We have 2kids - 5 yr old & a 2 yr old.
Any advice as to if we should have the kids watch part of the race?
My thought is have them watch the start or the finish....but not the whole ting ...they aren't going to just sit around for 2 hrs.....and I don't want to ruin it for the Baby sitter either...

Any words of advice on the kid thing?
Any encouragement in genreal?
What's a good race day breakfast & when should it be eaten, in relation to race time?

Thanks & wish us luck.

One nice thing about this event is that it is very spectator friendly. However, my wife and I do not have kids so I am best not to advise.

My race day breakfast ... bagel w/ peanut butter, around 4:30 - 5 AM. It seems to work for me. However, I wouldn't over-think race day nutrition for an Oly. Just do what has settled well with you in previous workouts.

BTW - in the backdrop to your left is the '06 CapTex.
