Has anyone done any open water swims near Milwaukee yet this season, or know someone who has? I'm thinking of going up to Pike Lake this weekend for a swim, but have no idea whether that's even feasible. How about Sandy Beach? I want to get in the open water, and start doing some real bricks!

Ok, this is top secret, but look up Kelley Lake on the New Berlin park and rec dept website.  I am thinking of checking out if shes ready this weekend, but a nice tiny lake for some OWS action off 124th and Grange.

I prefer Pewaukee Lake. Since it is the site of one of my races, it only makes sense. Also, Menomonee Park near Lannon or Fox Brook Park in Brookfield.

Where do you park for Kelly lake? Can't seem to find it on the NB web page.

Thanks,

For anyone interested, I answered my own question today with an OWS in Pike Lake. It's beautiful there, and the water is definitely warm enough (wore a full wetsuit, I think a long john would have been cold but doable). Followed it up with a ride in the Holy Hill area, and a run in the trails around the lake. Great place for a swim-bike-run brick.
