Cytomax. Orange flavor (My gf swears by cool citrus).

We buy it by metric buttload.

Ultimately, it comes down to what you can stomach. I tried Accelerade a couple of years ago, and found I could only stand drinking it after I was completely dehydrated.

I battled cramps for 2+ years, tried all the different sports drinks, etc. I had some success with endurolytes (a little salt and some electrolytes)....

So I'm reading race reports from IMAZ, and several very high profile athletes mentioned taking very high doses of salt, through salt tablets.  I contacted them, and it turns out they were popping anywhere between 2 and 8 LavaSalts an hour. I tried it, and it worked. 2-4 Lavasalts per hour, depending on sweat rate = no cramps for me.

But like Dollar says...it's experimentation to rule out the stuff that DOESN'T work. Make sure in your training that you have enough long workouts that you can try 2 or 3 nutrition options at distance.

I've found gatordade/powerade is too sweet.

I'm open to any and all suggestions.

I can't drink gatorade liquid straight, if I buy gatorade, I drink it 1/2 water, and still have issues with it.

I just switched BACK to gatorade - though not the premade liquid, but the powder. The liquid has HFCS, but the powders do not. They seem to go easier on my stomach. Label calls for 3 scoops for 32 oz, but I mix 2 scoops in the same amount.

If you have not tried the gatorade powders, give them a shot, they are easy to find, inexpensive, and do the job.

I've had no problems with Zip Fizz.   Except that I forget to leave space in the bottle for the fizz.

I've always used Accellerade, but I wanted to try something else, so I've been using powerade endurance. I like 'em both. I've also used Nuun, which is also good, but expensive by comparison.

I find Hammer products to be as healthy as you can get, aside from making your own, or just eating fruit.

I'm going to go out on a limb and ask: Are you sure it's due to nutrition? Sometimes when a muscle is tight or cramps it is out of balance and needs to be stretched. I get calf cramps a lot in my left leg (which I broke a long time ago) but just when I swim....my calf is colossaly tight and I am always rolling them out on my TP Massage kit.

SO, maybe try some "sport" drinks AND get on a stretching/massage routine....

Oh, I use Accelerade, Hammer, and or/PowerBar drink mix. The iced tea flavor actually tastes good when the bottle gets too warm. I know Cytomax and Gatorade work too without any issues.

I get bored with flavors and need to switch around a lot. Its also good to be able to use what is on the course just in case something happens to your bottles.

I also take enduralytes as "insurance" on hot days.

If you want to go the natural route, Himilayan rock salt is good, has lots of minerals in it, but very expensive. I cook and eat with Sea Salt and actually use more closer to a race. I read that Karen Smyers did that before her races. It helps me a lot.

Good luck.

Thanks for the props guys! If anyone needs any help with formulation questions or just simple nutrition chatter please don't hesitate. For those of you guys who don't know about us here is a simple FYI.

We have a platform that allows for each and every athlete the unique ability to create their own drink. We understand no two athletes are the same and why should the nutrition be the same... Besides giving athletes the unique ability to customize we also use a combination of 3 different carb sources, we don't use fructose corn syrup and also make sure all formulas are isotonic and are easily absorbed.

If you guys have any questions please don't hesitate to write or call.
