I'm actually likely going to go on Saturday, WPOC (weather permitting of course).

Anyone in the area who wants to PM me about it should feel free to do so.  Likely swim time will be around 11am or noon.

Cheers, -Sunny

I might be in for this weekend (16th) but I have not finalized my weekend schedule.  On the 23rd I have Day 1 of the MS150 bike ride.

Park Directions
Walden Pond State Reservation is located near Lincoln and Concord in the Greater Boston Area.
From Rte. 95/128: (North & South West of Boston area) Take exit 29B onto RT. 2 West, at 3rd set of lights take a left Onto RT. 126 South. Parking is ¼ of mile down on left.

From Rte. 2 East, at 6th set of lights take a right onto RT 126 South. Parking is ¼ of mile down on left.

From RT. 3: (North of Boston area & NH) Get onto RT. 62 West, Follow through Bedford center and into Concord, at stop sign there Is a Senkler Real Estate office directly in front of you, take a left, Follow road to the left around traffic circle, take next right onto Main St., take 1st left onto Walden St. Follow Walden Street until you get to the intersection of Route 2. At this traffic light go straight onto RT.126 South, (cross over RT.2) parking is 200 yards down on left.

You have to pay $5 for parking at the gate.

At the parking lot, head toward the opposit direction, away from the entrance.  Cross the road and you'll see stairs leading down to the beach.  We normally swim across the long length of the pond.  Depends on the time you are going, there might be other triathletes training.  Not sure what time the life guards are on duty.

Here is a link to the "map" of the pond.

It looks like I have clearance from parental duties that morning, so I'll be able to make it.  Any other slow swimmers coming to keep me company?  Also, are we biking afterwards?

Great!  9 am at Walden Parking lot.  At least 3 of us.

Biking or not, fine with me.  I'll bring my bike along.

tri_again:  Among the 3 of us, csimpkins is the fast swimmer.  I am slow, too.

Hey everyone!

I am planning to do OWS at Walden every weekend (Every Saturday and sometimes both Sat and Sun) from 06-23 and until the weather allows. Of course sometimes due to racing i'll have to skip it or change it to Sunday but I'll post. Aftre the swim I'll be heading out for a bike ride if anyone want to join and if we get a big group together we can break down in speed groups!

Anyway, this weekend I'll be there on Sunday at around 8:30-9:00 AM to swim out and back two times and then bike... I hope to see some of you there

I'll bring my bike, too!  My training plan calls for a 90 minute ride after the swim, but really I'm down for anything.
