Here's a new goal to shoot for.  Try to come in at your race number, i.e. you happen to be racer #187, see how close you come to 187th place overall!  Score yourself all season long, using this formula:

Consider your race number as "par" like in golf.  If your final position is lower than your race number, you get negative value or "under par" for that many numbers.  If you finish higher than your number, it is over par.  Finishing right on your race number is like a hole in one, and every BT-er at the race has to buy you a beer!

That would be even worse, I would have been 161/288 rather than DFMOP! I'd like to pass another 44 people(minimum) on the bike next time!

I read it as Dead-Freakin'-Middle-of-Pack.

Just think--had you passed one more person, you would have been above average (or, actually, above median...).

Actually, he is above average. Had he been 144/287, he'd be DFMOP.

Thank you for pointing that out...  To truly be DFMOP you need an odd number of participants.  That way there would be an exact number of people ahead of you as behind you... with an even number, i.e. to finish 144/288 means that you had more people finish behind you than ahead of you... a goal I may never reach.

 Peace,
Brian

Aren't I the smart one for waiting till the last minute to register for my races and getting a higher race number...

ACtually, I think this relates to the reason I didn't date much in high school...
