Elite  3201    South Florida |  Subject: Anyone doing or have done the Mass State Tri?I'm trying to plan my summer trip to MA and thought it would be fun to try to squeeze in a race while I'm there. It looks like I'll probably be coming end of July beginning of August. I was hoping to do Daskin again but it's already sold out. There's a Mass State Tri July 29th that has a sprint and an oly. They say it's in a beautiful lake with a nice flat bike and run. I still have to decide if I want to ship my bike up there though - that's probably a lot of money for one race. If I decide not to ship up my bike then I might do a 5 or 10 mile run in Newberryport that was at the end of July. Hopefully I'll get to see some of you when I'm home! |

"Course Info: Lake Dennison is a beautiful location that affords a relatively secluded bike course with some challenging hills. Separate bike and run course." I've actually never heard of this race or know anyone who's done it, for whatever that's worth. Might be a nice race so let us know if you do it.

It still looks nice, I'm just not sure if I want to ship my ike up there. My only other option is to use my brother's hybrid that I used in my first race (Danskin Webster) and it's way too big for me. Also - after finally getting a road bike I don't knwo if I could go back to the hybrid.  |

It's 48 or 49 Specialized Allez, definitely a small bike tho. Look at the Witch City Tri in Salem, August 5th. It's a FIRM event (www.firm-racing.com) and the date might work for you. I have a friend who lives near that and I could leave the bike there for you. I may do it as well and ride my tri bike. |

I have no idea how big my bike is - it's a Giant so it goes by small/med/large and mine is a small I think. I looked at the Salem one but I odn't like ocean swims - especially up there, I'm afraid I'd freeze! It's also the day after my birthday so I might not be up for a tri. I guess I should try to get some plane tickets so I can decide on a race soon! |

It looks like I'm not doing any races while I'm home.  I thought my husband would be up in MA with us the weekend of this race, but he'll actually be there the week before. I don't want to ask my mom to watch all 3 kids for the whole day especiallty when I haven't been training for the race or anything. Oh well - I'll get to race in MA someday! I wanted to do the Jerry Garcia run on the Charles but of course it's already sold out. |
