This was a pretty fun race. The run was hot and hilly. My run kind of folded at times. MarvArrnet caught me in T2 and passed me in the first half mile. Rough

It wasn't hilly...it was GOOD lord where are the handholds to get up this thing hilly!  Especially coming out of the second campground.  We don't have that stuff in SE Va.

I enjoyed the second hill because it looked like you were at the Country Bear Jamboree at Disney.  The guy that had on a wife beater...oh wait, that is his tan line...was really inspirational.  Offering bacon and beer and cackling back to his first cousin/wife about what he was saying, was just a hoot.  It was hard to understand him through the whistle created by his missing front teeth, but I knew his heart was in the right place.

I think I met you before the race started on the beach.  I had the big JID on my chest.  I think I also saw you after you had finished and come back to cheer on others in the middle of he run.  It was good to have someone yelling (and kept me from walking/laying down on the side of the road).

That hill coming out of the second camp ground was just plain steep. I was definitely impressed by it.

I am glad I wasn't the only one who thought the run was challenging.

JDB,

Yep, the was me on the beach.  I remembered what you said about your Dad.  And again, you have my thoughts with you.  I know he is proud of you and I am glad that I could motivate you up that last hill.
