Run
Comments: first mile was 6:30, way to fast, wanted the average to be 7:30 for both, so i dialed it back. Transition 1
Comments: estimate of time here. they had the run and t1 together. What would you do differently?: wear a lower ponytail so my helmet will fit. Bike
Comments: went well, went at about 85%, hurt- but i didn't need to cry:) Transition 2
Comments: should've been quicker but i was SHOCKED to see one of my pals, she's WAY faster than me normally, so i said hi and asked if she was ok while i took in some nutrition, which i shoulda just done while running. Run
Comments: single track trails, hills and sand and trees and such. beautiful course, but difficult for me to go fast. my achilles and soleus were all knotted up so i couldn't run on my toes, therefore i couldn't run up hills. no biggie though. i was encouraged that my quads felt pretty good, and my lungs felt good because of the slower pace. What would you do differently?: not start jump roping in training last week. bad trixie. Post race
Warm down: got some ART people to massage out my knotted calves...OUCH and sat with rick, slick, shannon and FB44 and waited for the awards. What limited your ability to perform faster: not much, it wasn't an A race, so i'm pretty happy. i took 5:12 off last year's time. Event comments: tough but very good race, this race is beginning to be a tradition, as it should. Last updated: 2007-06-05 12:00 AM
