Swim
Comments: good swim for me. did not get tired nor did I panic What would you do differently?: Thought you had to round the bouys. Apparently you could go inside them (way inside them) Could have saved some minutes if I had realized this Transition 1
Comments: Split the transition area into two. The run from the swim exit to the actual transition area is over 100 yds over asphalt. Put shoes and hat by the swim exit. Got them on there and then sprinted to bike Bike
Comments: had winds in the face, from the side and then on the home stretch at the back. Cramped up the last few 100 yds. Overall not bad. Saw some drafting by others but did not see any officials to penalize them Transition 2
Run
Comments: should have been faster, particularly the last mile into the wind. I had too much left for the last sprint What would you do differently?: need to work on speed in training; run faster into the wind knowing that I was about finished Post race
Warm down: yoga stretches with walking. What limited your ability to perform faster: Strong winds; adding unnecessary distance to swim; not doing enough speed training Event comments: They only had one masseuse for after the race which caused me to skip because of the line. Overall good race. Very strong winds with the remnants of Ivan. Last updated: 2004-09-20 12:00 AM
