Subject: KS BT Challenge
Hey all KC metro and KS residents. Would anyone be interested in doing a training challenge exclusively for our KC and KS group? I was thinking as a minimum goal we could use 95% of our June training totals, if you'd like to set a higher goal, that too would be acceptable - but you would only get credit for up to 100% of your goal. Some exceptions might be made if you are tapering or if you just did PacTOUR. Keeping track from your BT logs. As an example (none of these names have any meaning)

example
June Totals/July Goal (% of June)/actual
Team 1
Zoom: Swim 20k/22k (120%)/25 Bike 300/285 (95%)/300 Run 50/50 (100%)/50 = 100%
Geez: Swim 7k/14k (200)/7 Bike 2900/580 (20)/590 Run 10/25 (150%)/15 = 70%
Tuck: Swim 10k/11k (110)/11 Bike 200/190 (95)/95 Run 10/9.5 (95)/15 = 83%
Team 1 total = 84%

Team 2
Lisa: Swim 20k/16k (80)/16 Bike 300/285 (80)/290 Run 50/40 (80)/41 = 100%
Eric: Swim 7k/14k (200)/14 Bike 2900/580 (20)/590 Run 10/25 (150%)/10 = 80%
IKEN: Swim 10k/11k (110)/5.5 Bike 200/190 (95)/95 Run 10/9.5 (95)/4.75 = 50%
Team 2 total = 77%

Team 1 should have won, but loses on a technicality: Zoom had a "full-moon" so to speak at the SPM Tri and was DQ'd from the race and therefore from this competition since this kind of behavior cannot be tolerated.

Either, doesn't matter to me, you're choice as far as I'm concerned. Just set a goal.

Oh, and if I wasn't clear this would be a July challenge but I think anyone could join late.

Need to discuss prizes.
I was thinking maybe have the losing team jockstrap for someone from the winning team at a Tri, but then I thought my gear is too valuable for anyone else to touch...*cough, yeah right*.
Perhaps each team participant has a counterpart on the other team, the loser would have to provide the winner with beverage of choice or something like that.

OK, if you're in please post your goals for S/B/R and also indicate if you want to use hours/min or distance, either is acceptable.

I will do distance and 100% of my June totals, whatever they end up being.
Going to be a hot, training packed month!!

Do we need to form teams or do this individually? Maybe wait to see how many sign up before we make that distinction.

I agree... the acoustic qualities of your words appeal to my ears.  Now can I count my 24 hour bike rides I have planned for July???
