Subject: My first tri coming up in two days! Hi all, my name is Lisa. I was a competitive swimmer the last 14 years of my life and decided it was time for a change of pace. I am in graduate school so I have a flexible schedule to allow for good training time. I have been training for 7 weeks and will be doing my first triathlon on July 4th. I'm super nervous for it. I have no idea what to expect.
Do people usually go out too hard and just bomb on their first tri or do they go out too easy and have a lot of energy at the end?
It's a little uncomforting to not know what to expect. I initially thought the triathlon I signed up for would be smaller with only 150 people or so but I found out this year there are 440 people. That seems intimidating. I just can't imagine that many people all in one spot with one goal. My easier goal is to finish and my more challenging goal is to finish in less then 1:40:00. I just don't want to be last. Alright, well, I hope I'm not a lurker anymore and if anyone has some good beginner tips, you should drop them my way ASAP!
Nice to meet you all. |
