Subject: Base building
I am new to the sport, have not decided on any race yet but I want to start training/base building. I am already a runner and a cyclist (40 miles per week running and 80 miles per week cycling currently) I want to put my weekly running and cycling into a foundation.
Help me what should I do? How can I build a solid base?

You already have a base for sprint and olympic distance triathlons.

How big of a base do you want? As a marathoner and centurion(??), my mileage peaks at 60 mpw running and 150mpw cycling. Sounds like you're well on your way to building a foundation, if not already there.

I guess I asked wrong. I can bike, run and swim but never tried back to back. Is there any training program to improve my ability to swim, bike and run back to back?

Like the Nike ad sez, "just do it".   It sounds like you have a great foundation.  Start with two different disciplines in one day, maybe a ride in the morning and a swim at night.  Short workouts in both.  I assume you aren't planning to race this year, as in most areas the season is over...?  If this is true, then you don't need to do this every day, maybe once or twice a week.  Start slow and build on, as you probably already know.   Later on down the road you'll add brick  workouts, which is 2 disciplines back-to-back.

There are tons of good plans out there for formally gettting ready for a race, I used one off of this site for my first season.  I STRONGLY recommend that you check them out.

It sounds like you have good base fitness already. I'd say that you need to work on the moving from one discipline to the other. The bike-to-run transition is the one that hurts me the most. I'd say that one brick workout per week will help a lot.
