Anyone been in this area in the last few weeks? Just curious about the heat and dryness factor. We are planning to spend a few days in this area next week and we are a bit concerned about the heat. The game plan is strictly day hiking. Any input from fellow BTer's would be appreciated.

My MIL just came back from there, and she didn't mention the heat.  I suppose it depends on what you're used to.  She's from Redding, CA, where it starts getting HOT in May.

Take lots of fluids with you.  When we hiked Hetch Hetchy in June, it was in the upper 90s.  We each carried 2 liters of sports drink with extra salt, and ran dry around the 6 hour mark.  We had iodine tablets just in case we needed to refill with creek water.

(Lived in Southern utah for while

It is always very hot and dry this time of year.  Expect it to be about 100 every day with humidity in the teens.    Start your hikes as early as possible and take as much water as you can.   Also, check the weather if you plan to be hiking any of the slot canyons near Zion.  Flash floods are always a possibility with rain.
