Subject: Question for those in an around Evanston, N. Chicago
My girlfriend is moving to Evanston to start school at NW this fall. She's headed that way next month but classes won't start until late September. She'll get access to the gym on campus when classes start but she's not so sure if she'll be able to work out the month prior to that.

Anybody have any input on good gyms, preferably with a pool (indoor or out, will still be warm) in Evanston?

Congrats to your girlfriend on NW . . . Evanston is a great place!

Evanston has several membership gyms that have pools - Evanston Athletic Club, LA Fitness, YMCA and YWCA. I prefer EAC - it doesn't have the best pool, but I think it has the best offerings for a club.

Wilmette - city just north of Evanston - has an 50m outdoor pool that has a daily rate for non-residents. Here's the link: http://www.wilmettepark.org/centpool.cfm.
