Subject: a trip to 2008 tour de france
has anyone ever gone to France to watch the tour? i was thinking it owuld make a good 3 week vacation next year for the girlfriend and me. Just rough thoughts; rent a camper and follow the tour as they move along. Of course bring our bikes and ride a stage or 2. anyone ever done this? any thoughts? i already know i would have to reserve a camper now for next year

I think it would be great.  My understanding is that those knuckleheads that are at the mountain stages, especially the stages in the Pyrenees are there camping out for days before the race to ensure a good spot.
