Stretching & dancing ;)
Swim
  • 21m 7s
  • 930 yards
  • 02m 16s / 100 yards
Comments:

I didn't hear the starting horn - not that it made much difference. I had a little trouble keeping a straight line & probably swam a few extra yards.
What would you do differently?:

more sighting practice
Transition 1
  • 02m 12s
Comments:

I actually had the fastest T1 time in my age group! woohoo!
Bike
  • 41m 27s
  • 9.1 miles
  • 13.17 mile/hr
Comments:

Lots of steep hills on this course. The only flat part is a 1 mile stretch on the highway. I passed a few people on the hills, but surprised myself by passing a number more on the flat.
Transition 2
  • 02m 27s
Comments:

Slowest T2 in age group 'cause I had to change sox
What would you do differently?:

rinse feet better after swim
Run
  • 27m 7s
  • 2.6 miles
  • 10m 26s  min/mile
Comments:

Tough run - I had to walk up a couple of the steep hills, and didn't gain much time on the downhill.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Newtonian physics

Event comments:

I really like this race. It is short, but challenging due to the hills. I also like the larger than normal ratio of swim to bike & run.

Great name for a race across "Mallard Straight"

Nice job on the blazin' fast T1, decidedly slower (socks are important!) T2, and great pace on a hilly course.

Any more races this season for ya?  With 88F water, the season in KY could last till Nov, eh?

I ran this race last year, when it was in July not August.  I had another race that conflicted with this one.  It was a fun race and the party after the race was pretty great last year.

The hills are pretty tough.  How about that climb up from the highway?  That was one LONG hill.
