Nice poem, but Haiku has seven syllables for it's second line

Five, seven and five
Not time to say a lot, but
That's Haiku for you!!

I know what a Hiaku is, kezza33, but thanks for being such a concerned citizen.

I will sleep better at night knowing you know the proper form for a Hiaku.

I admit I did it fast, kezza33, but how many syllables do you count...?

It's been a long day, and maybe I am just missing it....

Heres one, tell me if it's right:

a lonely person

Critisizing my hiaku

Nothing else to do

Was that better?

Ahh .. my bad inner poet... dredging up the deep pain of my skinny teenage years, opening my wounds to your artistic criticism. Hey - being skinny was NOT easy!! Don't hate us. (especially now that I'm still skinny - but with saddle bags and a pot belly )

There once was a boy named welshy

Who had an afair with a jar of jiffy

Making him question his sanity

His hold on reality was definately iffy

His hold on the jar was quite clammy

It was passionate

It was strong

It was messy

It was wrong

He tucked the jar under his arm

Asking the world, what is the harm

The world shouted back, it is unatural

To love a jar of jiffy, and quite impractical

Not so, cold cruel world

Not candy or even chocolate swirl

I find Jiffy to be the perfict fit

for my spoon, knife, and yes, even my...........wit.

Heheh. I like the second Haiku more than the first welshy. Weren't you training for a race coming up? Got a status report for us?

I'm still trying to figure out the poking and sticking part of the first one. My interpretation of that is probably a little more bizarre than intented.

Steps up, clears throat:

Free to slam thin, but
"Fatties" get a total pass?
Seems bizare to me.

BT is great help.
Welcome to all body types.
Let's help each other.

Thin is not a crime.
Fat is not a crime, either.
Why the class warfare?

I need to run in the cold

Screaming all the way

Pool is still the same

It is getting out that sucks

Frozen popsicle

Can you tell the weather has changed up here???

Some of my best friends are skinny....

That made me laugh!! :) but Tom, really, would you bring a skinny person home to mom and dad? what would the neighbours say? it's a tough battle we fight for acceptance. But I think I've found my weapons:

swim, run, bike - i smile

hey look, i have calves and glutes!

good bye toothpick - hello ... tri's!!!

Wow. This is even worse than my grade 8 poetry. enjoy.

Don't hate the playa, Kathy, hate the game

I am just mocking the mockers....  What I am really mocking, though, is the mentality of what is considered attractive and the sad ideal modern media tells us to strive for.  I am attracted to all types of people, regardless of size.

And yes, Joanne, I would take a skinny woman home to ma and pa.  The neighbors won't say anything - they will just be glad I am not with THEIR daughters.....
