I know what you mean, though.  I have family that never calls, and then when I do call them they say..."I never hear from you.  You never call."...Ummmmm....'scuse me?!

List your phone number in this thread.  We BTers will make sure to call early, call late, and call often.

I know I probably sound like a whiner, and yeah, it could be much worse -- remember my MIL calls me all the time.  

I just get tired of being the only one to initiate conversations.  I feel like an after thought and that's kinda sad.  I can see how my cousins might be busy with their own lives and all that.  But my own parents can't even call me?  *sigh*

Maybe it's just a function of modern life.  Maybe people just don't contact each other anymore.

Stop worrying about stuff.  Your family all said they like talking to you.   So call and talk to them.  Who cares who initiates the conversation.   Someone has to.   If they were the ones to always call you first, would I mean you like them less?   Life is too short to worry about this kind of stuff and play games to see who loves who more.    Also, you could just tell your parents it would be nice for them to call more.   I am sure they would.   People don't know what is wrong unless you tell them.

I don't as a rule, just that I have my gaydar Control Panel set for mentions of "Ballroom Dancing." Not that there's anything wrong with that.

So, your tele-sex bill must be outrageous?

Madkat, you need better friends. Seriously.    Ferget the caller/callee ratio for a while and make it your business to go out there and build some new friendships.  That may mean initiating a lot for a while.   Meet people.  Initiate.  Call.  Get together.  Do fun stuff.  Have them over to your house.  Ask how their day was and care what the answer is.  Do little things to let them know you're thinking of them.  And yeah, if it sounds like wooing a new lover, friendship can be a little bit like that sometime. 

At some point, you'll find people you care about who also care about you.  Maybe some of your current friends, maybe new ones.  Tell them you appreciate it when they call.  No more "testing" people.  Whether you do that one-on-one or with The World In General, no good can come of that.

I don't know if that's what COJWD, but that's what CSWD.
