Subject: Any Clydes or Athenas Riding Kuota K-Factor?
I'm 6'4" and 240lbs. I test rode 3 tri bikes today, Cervelo P3 in 61, Cervelo P2 in 58, and the K-Factor in XL. I'd read all kinds of good things about the Kuota and for the price it seems like a great deal, but I don't think it fits me. I didn't do a full fit session, but I didn't like the feel in the cockpit. The P2 in 58 was too small as well. I plan to ride that tomorrow in 61. The P3 in 61 fit great and man oh man is that thing FAST!! I did my usual test route out of that LBS and looked up at the street signs and said to my self "I'm where!!" It told me that with the tri-bike fit is EVERYTHING. Long winded, but are any of your long folks riding the Kuota?

I'm not riding a K-Factor but like everyone will say on the forums is get the one that fits you best and you feel most comfortable on.  It's better to spend more money than spending less and having to pay to get a better fit or buy another one altogether.

If you dont think it fits you then that is probably what matters (after a proper fit session). I would ask have you ridden a tri geometry before because they are not like road bikes, and are more uncomfortable. That said I am 6'3" 209lbs on a K-Factor XL sized frame. I was 236 when i started riding it, and I have found it to be wonderfully comfortable as far as tri bikes go. It has a little more relaxed geometry than say a Kalibur or a P3, and I found it to be a good compromise of performance and comfort. It took a little tweaking from the stock bike build, I dropped the bars, moved the elbow pads inward, raised the seatpost a little, but after 350 miles, I love it. It has a very stout frame around the Bottom bracket and back triangle, so I find it is great for someone like me who has more power to put out. I find that for the same course and conditions I get about 1.5 mph increase over 20miles over my road bike (perhaps not a fair comparison since my RB is a few LBS heavier too). The K-Factor is not an especially svelt or light carbon bike, but I like that about it, I feel like I get better power transfer for a bigger guy, and I feel confident on the bike as it has a sturdiness about it.

I have not ridden tri-bikes before, but I do have extensive road experience. Also I did not get a full fit session. That said the P3 was by far the most comfortable. Mainly, I believe because it fit really well. The K-factor just feels really small.

Sounds like the P3 may be best for you. There is alot more to bike fit than just height & wt, so just because the kuota fits me, you may have a different inseam and find it really uncomfortable.

Rode the P2C today. Very similar to the P3. It was easier to stay aero on the P2. So far I think I like best of the bunch. Especially since at it's proposed 2008 pricing I can get some really kick butt wheels as well!!

They will be making a p2c ultegra & will be 2.5k.
from cervelo forum -> http://forums.cervelo.com/forums/t/406.aspx

also from Gerald on slowtwitch regarding the DA version.

"The price of the P2C with a slightly better kit than this year but the new colors will remain at $3000, so relatively an even better value. No reason to lower the price of that bike, it's the second fastest of the 20 bikes we had in the tunnel in May, and in 2007 we could never keep them in stock because it was so popular. And frankly, we couldn't afford to make that bike any less expensive either. That said, there will be an Ultegra and a DuraAce version next year.

I have a Kuota K Factor and have ridden since June '06. I love love the bike mostly since it fits me perfectly out of the box with supplied stem.

I like that it is not super aggressive design and fits average folks. Lots of folks that get Cervelos add lots of stackers as those bikes are designed to be ridden aggresively and often average folks can't ride in that position comfortably. I like that I ride the bike as designed which makes handling excellent.

Key is a good fit and riding a bike as designed...find which works best for you.
