Who's in?  I'll be there.  I'm pretty excited about this race.  I PR'd the Stonebridge Ranch Oly this past weekend and I'm hoping to race even better at the US Open.

This will be an interesting race setup.  Point to point course and  lots of logistics to think about.  I copy and pasted all the logistics stuff into a Word doc so I can read it all at once without have to click on different links.   It's attached incase any of you want to read it.

I'm in for the short course...with the 25mi bike you can't exactly call it a sprint...I had a great race at the Stonebridge Sprint; looking forward to this race, although the point to point with 2 transition areas has me a little concerned about logistics. (I guess that will all be explained ahead of tiem.) Last race of the season for me.

Cool, I tried to get T1 so I could go watch the finish and then get home to watch football but they had T1 covered.  I guess I will help till t2 closes and then watch football.  Luckily the Steelers are off but I have the Sunday ticket so I have my pick of games and don't have to watch the cowboys.

Did you see the list of pros that will be there?  It's a long list.  I wonder if some of them will be hanging out at the Expo.

BTW...I'm working at a USA Triathlon booth at the Expo on Saturday.  Stop and say Hi if you are at the Expo.

I'm in, using it as a "tune-up" for Ironman FL. Looks like a fast course.

I'm there (and Tri Mommy, too) for the Olympic.  It might be more of a training day than a race for me, although I'm feeling better after Longhorn than I expected.

BTW ... has anyone confirmed that the swim is going to be wetsuit legal? I know that the site says that the water temp is only 74 degrees, but that seems pretty cool compared to other local lakes. Most lakes in DFW are around 82-84 degrees right now.

I have no clue where they're getting 74 from.

Texas Wildlife fishing report has water temp at 78-83, same reading for Ray Hubbard. I swam in Ray Hubbard this weekend and anyone who wears a wetsuit for a 1500m swim is going to regret it.

I am still hoping I can wear my wetsuit just for the practice.

But I'm with you ... 74 sounds too low.

I'm in. First ever Tri. Doing the "short" course.

What are the thoughts on the bike course? Flat, hilly, moderate? Hope there isn't a prevailing north wind, which is fairly common in October. The vast majority of the bike hide is heading north.

Flat course, and I bet we will have the wind at our back. I know that it is still early in the week, but the forcast calls for a SE wind 5-10 mph.

Here's the bike route. Click on the "Elevation" button to see the hills. After getting out of the park, it's downhill overall.

I'm in for the sprint... but it will be a catered training day for me. I swam today for the second time since June, and I've been in a light recovery training mode for a few months since Buffalo Springs. Just getting back into it. See you guys there.

74 degrees can't be right. I'll bring my wetsuit and keep my fingers crossed, but I'm not counting on it being that warm. (That said, if it's wetsuit legal I'll use it).

Hiya,

I'm in another Oly - uhh I didn't 'PR' in Stonebridge, that was my first Oly - and I finished, yay for me.

Doing the Oly for this one. Just hoping to improve my time overall before heading into the winter season.  Then I have personal goals to set and work to attain for next year.

That's wierd.  I uploaded this from home and then downloaded to check the file and everything worked fine.  Now at work I can get the file to work.  I'll try again tonight from home.
