jenndocmartin - 2007-10-14 11:59 AM I don't have the gear, but I can offer a free lesson... I'm a fairly decent swimmer (swam competitively for 10 years) who lives in SE Wisconsin. I would be able to meet someone for a free half-hour of technique coaching at the Whitewater Aquatic and Fitness Center on a Tuesday night. I know it's pretty specific in terms of day/place, but since I'm there anyway I thought I'd offer.

I would so love to take you up on this.  I'll send you a PM...

I am new to the tri world myself, and would have loved to have something like this going when I first started ealrier this year. I have been upgrading an early 90's Caloi Pro 7 speed road bike and have a couple of pieces left over that I do not need.

I have a cervelo base bar that I beleive to be 42cm across. I don't know what year or bike that it came off of. I bought it with a set of brake levers and used the brake levers.

I also have a set of Cane Creek 200TT brake levers. They are a little scuffed, but they came from another deal.

I also have a pair of 8 speed shifters and a dura ace 8 speed cassette.

If anybody needs anything let me know.

Also if anybody has any 9 speed parts they do not want, I would appreciate it. Or if somebody is really feeling generous. I am also looking for a 52 cm tri geometry frameset. If the frame takes a 1" fork I don't need the fork, just a frame and seatpost. Thanks a lot guys.

Masonea-

I have a 9 speed fairly well used cassette.  It was given to me by a fellow BT'er  a while back, and I never used it.  I have no idea how much life is left.  Not exactly what you're looking for, but every little bit helps?

Also, check this out, I can't believe they would put regular bars on this bike- but it's a steal.  If I had the money I would buy it.  Instead I'm buying the same frame and slowly building it up from my old bike and new parts.  Check it out!

I don't know the seller, but they have 100% feedback...

Auto,

Great job on starting this!  I have given a fuel belt and swim paddles out as well.  I've even got an Xterra Vector Pro 2 on "permanant borrow" out there.  So I am totally in this vein.  As Triathletes, we tend to collect things and then forget we have them.  I know I have tons of stuff, so I will post them right after my next races.  They are kinda priority right now.

BUT...what I do know is that I have access to discounts that I am willing to share with other BTers.  I can get Nuun at 50% off and Brooks stuff (certain sizes because it is suppose to be for personal use) at 40% off.  So send me a PM and perhaps I can get a "bulk" order out and pass along the savings.  And just for the record, I would get NO profit off of this.  People on BT can vouche for me.

greenmtnman- i'll send you a pm with my address for the cassette. Like you said, every little bit helps. If I had 650 I would probably call up inside out sports and see if they have a cervelo dual frameset. They are selling them for 600. But I am not sure about the sizes. My main problem is that I do not have 600 bucks.

I have 2 things to offer:

1) A free swim lesson in the Fairfax, VA area. I swam competitively for 12 years (swimming paid for my college) and I would be more than happy to meet someone at their local pool and give them a free 1/2 hour lesson.

2) A pair of size 11 running shoes. I wore them once and did not like them. I think they are New Balance or something like that. They were cheap ($50-$60 I think) but anyone is welcome to them.

I will check what else I have as well. I have my last race of the year this weekend but will be available to meet someone/ship the sneakers next week.

This is a great idea!

Dan

Perfect.  I was just going to post a "Free to Good Home" but I'm glad I checked this thread first.

Free to Happy Butt: Cannondale bike seat, mens stock seat, black w/cro-moly rails (came off my Synapse 3), the leather is a little scuffed on one side from a gooberheaded fall I took, but there's LOTS of life left.  My butt hates it, so I'm happy to put it out there.

Also: royal blue AquaSphere Kaiman goggles w/smoke lenses (before I knew I had "junior" face), will probably toss in a swim cap or two.

Last, if anyone wants a race number belt, I think I have an extra. No more pins!

Love it!

~Christine

This is a really fabulous thread.  So nice to see such a positive sharing in the forums. I know there are more than a few parts & pieces kicking about around here and I will definitely post in here.

Thanks for starting...beautiful plan.  OOO Tink

Goggles are taken.  Tried to edit the post to strike the goggles, but I gather there's a 30-minute window for edits.  D'oH!

Oh well, bike seat and race belt are still not yet spoken for

Shortyy,

I would be interested in the helmet!

I am in the process of getting back into cycling after spending many years running. The helmet would probably be an excellent idea!!

I am new to the site but am very impressed with the people and their willingness to help one another.

Thanks much!
