Saw this on ST. Great video showing her getting a replacement bike, riding in pain, and her coach or someone trying to convince her to stop. Also, some kind of interview after the hospital. It's all in some foreign language but her emotions and crying tells it all.

She's my new HERO and inspiration!!!

Go to the Oct 15 entry where there are two video links:

Her coach and partner Toni Hasler was on the race course when he heard the first message in the radio. The topfavorite Natascha Badmann should have had an accident because of a motorcyclist?! In further news there was always said that she was pressed of the road by a motorcyclist so she had to avoid him and crashed heavily. We still could not figure out who lanced this message. Actually Natascha had in her extremly aerodynamic position with a very restricted view field to avoid a motorcyclist to not crash with him, where she collided with a street cone and crashed down. At this moment by her onw perception she drove more or less 60km/h. Her helmet and the frame of her bike was totally broken, she suffered skin injuries and explorations on the whole body and she had a lot of pain on both shoulders and on her back. But Natascha didn’t want to give up then „give up would be much more painful“

  • ..Now that's good reading. "Explorations on the body"...hmmmm.

  • I had no idea that Chirunner wrote for that site.
