All of the rear hydration systems (the ones that hold bottles) look like they are designed for regular round seat posts. I am missing something? do they work with aero seat posts? If not what does?

Yea, there's a couple as examples. You need to look for ones that attach to the seat rails like the X-lab or minouri.

I like the Xlab kit a lot, but I think I need to see one in person. It looks like it can be configured a variety of ways. It would be nice to have a bottle, co2, and a tube. In the picture there is that yellow thing a sideways bottle holder?

I had an x-lab but I sold it here on BT for the minoura one. Not sure what you mean by sideways but that is a waterbottle. One connects on the left and right side. I like the minoura personally because you can still put a saddle bag.

Just go down to the pictures, I've linked you to the whole thread so you'll have to scroll down to get to the pictures.

My current setup with minoura and saddle bag.

I went through the same exercise recently. Ended up with an XLABS carbon wing. Between the Hydrotail and the XLABS, the XLABS carbon seemed to have a lot more flexibility (more holes, built in slits for straps, offers custom bags that fit inside, etc) and was easier to install. Took me about 20 minutes total and I could still use my tool bag with it. Its expensive though.

I didn't know about the Minoura one, and for the price difference, I may have gone that route, at least initially.
