What's the interest in doing a BT group ride in the Portland area? I'm out of town this weekend, but otherwise I ride every Saturday and Sunday, so I can do it any time. I know with the holidays coming up it might be difficult for some to do it prior to the new year.

Here are my thoughts:

No drop ride. If someone has to stop, everyone stops. If someone falls behind, everyone circles back/slows.
A 30ish mile loop, with an option for those who want to ride longer to add another 20ish miles.
Keep the terrain relatively flat to accommodate all skill levels.

What I would like to hear back is:

Are you interested?
Saturday, Sunday, or either?
Would you like to do it before the holidays, in January, or either/both?

Hi Yaqui,
I just saw this post and would totally be down for a ride. I'm a big fan of the Springwater Corridor.

My hubby and I would be in. Though at this point, I'd more be in for 20 miles since I haven't been on the bike since, uhhhhhh, yeah, 20 miles would be good. LOL. Personal preference is Sunday mid morning as there tends to be less traffic.  But we're good for either day.  I'll vote for January, since we're practically there already.

I'm glad to see a couple of people responded. I'm sure we could coerce Drag-the-Lake to join us.

I've been doing an easy 1.5 hour ride on Springwater on Sunday's, so that will work for me.

How does Sunday the 6th at 10:00 sound to folks? We could meet in the parking area under the Hathorne Br.

Let me know who's interested.

yaqui - 2008-01-02 4:13 PM Reminder: This Sunday (That's JANUARY 6, 2008, Doug ) under the Hathorne Br. at 10:00 AM. scott

We thoroughly checked out the route last weekend. Everything looks good! Even the detour around one of the bridges!

If people want to park in the lot right next to the Esplanade, there's plenty of room and it's FREE On SUNDAY. Might want to bring Sails this Sunday. ??

Hi all,
I managed to really tweak my knee snowboarding today, so am unfortunately unable to join you for the ride tomorrow. Boo! Cross your fingers it's nothing worse than a strain. I look forward to joining you for the next one!

I hope you heal quick, Amanda.

We had a good ride today. Drag the Lake, his wife, and Ranman were there. A nice easy pace out to the end of Springwater and back. And it stayed dry!

We'll have to schedule another one for February.

Hey all. I'm sort of new to BT...and I guess pretty much new to triathlons too. I would love to join you for a ride sometime. I'm a bit on the slower side, so if you need to drop me I won't be offended. :-) While I'm the least talented at running, I am the least comfortable on the bike. And I probably have the biggest chances of improving this leg. Lots of hill work in 2008!

I was thinking about setting up another ride for Feb. 10th, but I see that's the "Worst Day of The Year" ride.

Maybe a group of BTers would be interested in riding it together?

Any thoughts?

I think I'd (We'd?) be up for that one. Not sure if the Tandem is in order or if we'd go singles.

Sounds like fun.  I was planning to ride the course as well if I can get away.  What time were you thinking?
