Run
Comments: The path was extremly icy. It made for some tough footing and slow going. Spent most of the run on the side of the path in the snow as that was the only place to get decent footing. The path was pretty narrow due to the snow and ice which made passing difficult as well. Saw a couple of people go down, one poor woman looked like she broke her arm. Race was originally supposed to be an 8k but was shorten to a 5k due to the weather. It was very trecherous out there. This was the slowest 5k I had ever run. Although I'd rather run slow and not fall. What would you do differently?: Hope that there isn't an ice storm the night before. The ice made for slow going and a tough run. Post race
Warm down: Got some water and gatorade and headed to the car. What limited your ability to perform faster: The ice on the running path and the on-going ice storm Event comments: The race was well run for the conditions. If it wasn't for the ice, it would have been a higher rated race. Last updated: 2007-12-09 12:00 AM

Woke Up around 7:15 to an overnight and on-going ice storm. Ate a small breakfast of 2 plain eggo waffles and drove to the race. Checked in and got my chip. Got in the starting line about 5 minutes before the race started.
Some light stretching. Didn't do any warmup running as the sidewalks, path and street were coated in ice.
